Last night we were treated to monsters from outer space, but a pretty unbelievable plotline altogether. Let’s face it… the only viruses we’ve seen astronauts encounter in space are of the computer variety. So kick back at your desk this lovely Friday afternoon and take a look at our take on last night’s Fringe.

Friday, November 6th, 2009Fringe episode 5 recap – what we learned about deep brain stimulation et al
Friday, October 16th, 2009Last night’s episode was full of fun gore, but kinda light on the science… I mean, after all, two-way deep brain stimulators without any real power source? Yeah… likely. Click here to learn more about what is really happening in the world of deep brain stimulation, and how it’s helping people today. Then, have a look at our snarky wrap-up video below!
Fringe Episode 5 Live Blog: Dream Manipulation
Wednesday, October 14th, 2009This week’s Fringe episode has something to do with dream manipulation… leading a man to go utterly postal on his coworkers when he sees them as demons. I’m sure we’ve all been there – with the coworkers, not the violence against them part. Please join us on our live blog Thursday at 9pm Eastern Time, when we watch and comment on Fringe together with you and Michael Gilkey from the National Center for Regenerative Medicine. See you then!
Quick recap of Fringe episode 4 – the return of Leonard Nimoy
Friday, October 9th, 2009Last night we saw the triumphant return of Leonard Nimoy, in addition to having a bucketful of answers thrown our way. We learned about “the other side”, the mission of the trans-dimensional cylon army and MORE. Here’s a quick video that highlights some of the silliest and most important moments from last night.
Fringe episode 4: The Return of Leonard Nimoy
Thursday, October 8th, 2009So from what we’ve seen on the previews, Leornard Nimoy returns as William Bell this week on Fringe… and will hopefully start explaining this whole trans-dimensional travel thing soon. We’ve seen some molemen, exploding gel folk, and agent dunham flying through the windshield of a parked car. It’s time for some answers. So join us tonight as we live blog the newest episode of Fringe with NCRM’s Michael Gilkey.
Preview for Fringe episode 4: Leonard Nimoy returns!
Monday, October 5th, 2009As we’ve all noticed, this season’s Fringe episodes have been only partially half-cocked science. There’s a whole different storyline going on now… one that involves trans-dimensional spies, constant monitoring of Professor Bishop, and most notably Agent Dunham’s memory loss. Well… apparently all that is going to change if the new teaser clips are to be believed.
In the most recent clip, it seems that we finally get to see what Leonard Nimoy’s character (William Bell) had to tell Agent Dunham during her trans-dimensional travels. Given that we’ve had to sit through a bunch of exposition so far this season, we certainly hope to see this storyline lead somewhere interesting. So please join us for our weekly live blog this Thursday at 9pm EST here on the site as we find out much more.
Quick recap of yesterday’s Fringe: The Exploden’ing
Friday, October 2nd, 2009Wow… so last night, we learned that harmonic resonance can blow people up. Sorta. We’re going to dig around for some more information on sonic resonance (contact us if you’re an expert!), and see if we can’t get you some real answers on that soon. In the meantime, here’s our weekly video showing us what we learned on Fringe last night. mmm… coffee…
Join us here Thursday at 9pm to live blog Fringe
Wednesday, September 30th, 2009We’ve seen that this week’s episode has something to do with turning folks into explosive gel. Sounds intriguing. Join us at 9pm EST here as we live blog the third episode of this season’s Fringe with NCRM’s Michael Gilkey.
Preview for Fringe Episode 3: The Explode’n'ing
Monday, September 28th, 2009According to the previews for this week’s Fringe, we’re in for some explosive action. More accurately, something’s turning people into goo’ey walking explosives. Obviously we can’t wait to find out what it is, though hopefully it will be slightly more believable than last week’s mole man. Remember, this Thursday we’ll be live blogging the newest Fringe episode at 9pm EST, along with NCRM’s Michael Gilkey.
You can follow us on twitter @11HrFx if you’d like to be reminded while out and about on your Thursday evening, or follow our fan page on Facebook (’Eleventh Hour Facts’). We’ll see you then, but meanwhile feel free to share your theories on this week’s upcoming episode in the comments below.
Popular Mechanics pokes holes in the mole man
Monday, September 28th, 2009It seems that we were not the only ones who thought last week’s episode of Fringe was… well… a bit of a stretch. One reader submitted this great piece from Popular Mechanics where they take a long hard look at the episode’s science… and come away disappointed. If for no other reason than a good Monday laugh, take a look here.
